Job Description

Road Warrior Staffing is hiring experienced OTR CDL A Drivers for a long-haul trucking position offering competitive pay, modern equipment, strong benefits, and consistent miles.

Drivers can expect to average approximately 2,500 miles per week, with empty miles paid at the same CPM as loaded miles.

The position operates on an OTR schedule of approximately 2 weeks out, followed by 2 nights home for most states.

Approximately 99% of the freight is no-touch, allowing drivers to focus on safely and efficiently operating the truck.

OTR CDL A Driver Pay & Compensation
$0.65 CPM base pay
Up to $0.10 CPM safety/productivity bonus
Up to $0.75 CPM total earning potential
Approximately 2,500 miles per week
$1,350–$2,250 average weekly pay range
Empty miles paid at the same CPM as loaded miles
$2,500 sign-on bonus
$100 Clean Inspection Bonus
$2,000 Driver Referral Bonus
$50 per additional stop
$25 per hour detention pay after the first 2 hours
$175 layover pay for every 24 hours
$15 orientation pay

Duties

OTR Driver Schedule & Home Time

Type of Driving:
Over-the-Road (OTR)

Mileage:
Approximately 2,500 miles per week

Home Time:
Approximately 2 weeks out with 2 nights home for most states

Freight:
Approximately 99% no-touch

Drivers should be comfortable spending extended periods on the road and operating throughout multiple regions of the United States.

Modern Truck Fleet

Drivers operate modern equipment designed for comfort, reliability, and efficiency.

Approximately 90% of the fleet consists of Peterbilt 579 trucks, with additional Cascadia, Volvo, and International models.

The fleet includes 2023–2027 model-year trucks.

Qualifications

CDL A Driver Requirements

To qualify for this Midwest Regional CDL A Driver position, applicants must:

Have at least 6 months of verifiable CDL driving experience
Hold a valid CDL
Be at least 21 years old
Meet company and insurance qualification requirements
Pass required MVR and PSP reviews
Meet the company's accident and violation standards
Accident & Driving Record Requirements
Preventable / Chargeable Accidents

No more than 3 preventable or chargeable accidents within the previous 3 years.

Moving Violations

Drivers must have:

No more than 3 moving violations within a 3-year period, OR
No more than 20 points under the SMS Unsafe Driver Basic Violation Table

Whichever qualification threshold is reached first will disqualify the applicant.

Both MVR and PSP records will be reviewed during the qualification process.

Major Driving Violations

No major violations within the previous 3 years, including:

Leaving the scene of an accident or hit and run
Using a motor vehicle to commit a felony
Driving while a license is revoked, suspended, cancelled, or disqualified
Reckless driving
Careless driving
Negligent driving
Speeding more than 21 MPH over the posted speed limit
Improper or erratic lane change involving an accident
Racing violations
Passing a school bus
Cell phone violations
Texting while driving
Driver Fitness Requirements

Drivers must have no more than 20 points within a 3-year period under the SMS Driver Fitness Basic Violation Table.

Both MVR and PSP records will be reviewed and calculated during the driver qualification process.

DUI Requirement

No DUI within the previous 5 years.

English Language Requirement

All drivers must be able to read, speak, and understand English sufficiently to:

Converse with the general public
Understand highway traffic signs and signals
Respond to official inquiries
Complete required reports and records
